This Christmas was the last Christmas for a while where we knew that our sons would both be home. One is finishing his master’s degree in June, and the other is a college junior. Who knows where they will be working or living over the next few years?
A vacation was in order.
We decided on Puerto Vallarta, since it met the requirements of sun in December, ocean, and lots to do for a variety of interests. We made our reservation at the Marriott, and we are so glad we did!
This was the view from our room.
Seriously? That view made the red eye flight worth it!
We spent the days lounging at the pool and exploring the area. There is nothing quite like having guacamole and chips or the fresh fruit plate delivered to you poolside. The staff was polite and attended to our needs quite capably.
The area was safe and we enjoyed walking down to the marina, where there were many different shops and restaurants, spas, and the inevitable timeshare salesmen.
We found the Christmas tree in the lobby of the hotel a bit humorous since we could hear the ocean. Evergreens and ocean. Hmmm. But it makes for one of the best Christmas pictures of our family that we have ever taken.
Would I go back? In a heartbeat.
